Shocking Red

There’s a bitter taste
that’s left
Trust is given on a
short string and
You burned it
But I guess this
Like the last is fault of
My own.

Like a firework
On the Fourth of July
My heart shone and
smiled

Like a firework
On the Fourth of July
I’ve blinked and now
It’s gone.

There’s a ringing in my ears that reminds me
you were there.
I should’ve ran at the sight of your smile
The sound of your voice.
The shape of your
spirit

Wishes of greatness.

Your whole life waiting on
the ring to prove
you’re not alone

I’d rather have no ring
at all
